There are three principles behind the Ibanez Prestige line: precision, performance and comfort. Prestige guitars combine high-tech manufacturing techniques with old-school Japanese craftsmanship to achieve true innovation in design and construction, and the series incorporates ideas and suggestions from musicians around the world as cornerstones of the Prestige production process.
The Prestige fret treatment is very characteristic of this range. This technique involves carefully working the fret to make it as rounded as possible, so that the neck feels ultra-smooth and fast.
About S-Tech
The special S-TECH toast treatment increases the wood's stability, durability, water resistance and tolerance to temperature changes. The neck is sealed with an oil finish that helps it feel similar to a well-played guitar neck.
This treatment provides superior attack and a well-balanced tone with rich sustain. For maximum neck-gripping comfort, the edges of the fingerboard are rounded.
About Ibanez
Ibanez is a guitar and bass manufacturer based in Japan. It is named after the Spanish luthier Salvador Ibanez, whose excellent guitars were distributed in Japan by the Hoshino Gakki company. The 1929 recession hit the firm, which closed in 1933. The Japanese market was left without supply, so the importer decided in 1935 to start manufacturing Spanish guitars on his own and distributed them under the name ‘Ibanez Salvador’. Later he changed the name to ‘Ibanez’.
